The Brain Behind Crafting Circle Last Year, She Taught Me How to Knit Last HSURV.... Anna!

Anna Kate is a rising senior in Dunster House, studying History and Literature with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights. She is doing research for her thesis on the 2013 Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, where she examines its protections for Native American women.

She is also working as a Radcliffe research team fellow, studying the history of the American education system in terms of the racial formation of Black, white, and Native people. Last summer, she was a SHARP fellow. Outside of her research, she is the co-president of Natives at Harvard College, and a writer for an immigration rights publication called Stories from the Border. In her free time, she watches a lot of YouTube, beads a lot of earrings, and knits her never-ending quarantine scarf.

Fun Fact: pierced her friend’s ears in a Winthrop bathroom last summer.
